For most meals I prefer rice over potatoes.

 

I prefer wild rice over the plain white rice.

I like wild rice with duck, pheasant, quail, chicken and seafood.

I will eat potatoes in soup or with pork and red meats.

I eat whatever the wife puts in front of me. I probably prefer taters though. More versatile with our (my family's) food dishes.

 

i'm american too, but last time i checked Chinese where american also.

i generally eat potato's because thats what put in front of me.

if i go to a Chinese buffet and they have both mashed potatoes and rice
i usually go for the rice

 

Rice or taters.
I never had Gumbo on a bed of mashed potatoes but a Rib-eye and rice that's just not right.
need a "both" button...

 

Meat and taters guy here. I eat the occasional rice but I would say that 90% of the time I am eating meat and taters and not meat and rice.

 

I eat a ton of mexican so it's gotta have rice, stir fry and rice, super good stuff, but potatoes go with just about anything. I do eat a lot of both, I eat way more carbs than 90% of the population does.
