Just An FYI ..

My Wood Burner kept getting harder and harder to get it to pull a draft then finally filled the house with smoke , I got on the roof today with 3 inches of snow on it , took the cap off and dropped a screw driver down it , came in the house and no screw driver EEK ....

Had to tie my fire poker to a piece of rope , and believe it of not about 3/4 the way down it was plugged off 100% had to keep pile driving it with the poker , then i ran the brush threw it a few times and got a 5 gallon bucket full of creasode ,

Its burning like a **** now . may want to check yours out I cleaned mine right before winter hit . only difference this year was i burnt a 1/2 cord of green wood , I think thats what done it

Hey CHAD, Never had a wood burner, I've only used an electric heating blanket & central heater to keep warm.

Have you seen those "chimney sweep" blocks you burn? I don't know if they work, but it would be worth looking at.

I'd rather see you have to do that than have to read a post about your house catching on fire. Sounds like your stove needs a DPF delete kit.. No more clogged exhaust...

I used to have that problem then I got an outdoor wood furnace. freakin awesome!!!!!!!!!!

my chimney wasnt built correctly and wasnt tall enough to kept a draft. it needed 10 more feet to work properly according to an equation i used.

But I used to use a powder that was like $15 once a week and it helped, it also helped loosen the creosote so it was easy to remove instead of like tar

Burning green wood is the biggest issue. I know because im burning 50% green right now (ran out of seasoned stuff). You can sure tell the difference in creosote buildup. Also not burning hot enough like said above.

I installed an older wood burning furnace with a blower this yr and it seems to want to burn the wood wayy to slow to keep the flue temps real high. Im gonna try and cut a hole in the door an install a decent damper to get it some more air.

We're in for some lowwww temps the next few days so im sure i'll be burnin plenty. Dang arabs aint gettin my $$$ for oil

What's everybodys opinions on burnin seasoned pine. We have piles of cut seasoned pine logs that are just sittin there. I've always been told not to burn pine but i've read that it's one of the higher BTU producers??
