Regardless of what you carry, shoot, prefer, WHATEVER IT IS!!!! If you can't shoot, and I can, then you will die from me shooting you with a .22, and you missing me with your .45 every time. I personally carry the XD in .40 on the street, with MR. SHOTGUN and slugs for primary. No matter how you look at it, a pistol is a backup, or to fight back to your cruiser to get MR. SHOTGUN, or the assault rifle in the rack next to it. I personally like slugs over my carbine, but I like the gore that a .72 slug creates. But I digress, this is a pistol discussion. I like .40, and XD.

I just read this whole thread and can't remember what the hell it was originally about. Oh, well. What .45 GAP should I get? I have looked at the Glock 39.

That's like saying BMW's are driveable, but that your Carmengia is better than a BMW

XD's are the flavor of the month right now. Hopefully they live to their hype.

The Sig 250 is cool but at the moment the additional caliber changeover parts aren't available from Sigarms. This is typical as Sigarms is notoriously slow in getting stuff to market. The whole niche of the 250 is being modular, and if you can't switch over right now, there's no reason to pay a premium for the firearm over say a 229, 226, or 239.

I was being a smartarse earlier in this thread about what to get, but seriously if you're looking at the 250, expect to wait awhile for the slides, barrels, etc. If you're not interested in the modularity, buy a different model Sig.

For an XD....they look cool, but a Glock will outperform it.

FN makes a helluva gun, too.

I have a XD45 tactical and shot over 2000 rounds through it and no problems at all. My Glock didn't stand up to a 1000 rounds before it would jam about every 6 or 7 rounds and the ejector kept breaking.
