HID Projector Headlights How to Guide

HID Projector Headlights How to Guide
did you ever add a cool mod to your truck and then find out a much better way......well. i have.......i added some off-the-shelf HIDs from ebay and then found out what i really should have done.....
if i had to do it over i'd buy an extra set of OEM headlights for my 02-05,
then some infiniti M35 projectors.
http://motors.search.ebay.com/?from=...non+projectors
then follow what this guy did....
http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showt...&highlight=HID
here's the reason,
my HIDs are okay, but they are not Bi-Xenon (high and low from the same projector) they are not auto leveling (auto aims beam whether truck is loaded or empty.)
while my HIDs work okay, i don't like their looks, an OEM set-up with projectors added would be better......

here some things to look for when buying HIDs
also this is why the M35 infiniti is a perfect retro fit......
03-07 FX35/45 OEM BI Xenon projectors. Bulb, ballast, and ignitor not included. Parts came out of a 05 Infiniti FX35 suv. Projectors come with working auto leveling motor, working actuated high/low beam shutter and factory headlamp wiring harness. This kit is perfect for retro. Bid with confidence because you are bidding on OEM Nissan/ INFINITI parts, and not cheap aftermarkets. All units have been tested and are in perfect working order.

the cheap aftermarket lights i bought cost $239. plus $50 freight....
they work okay and they were almost plug and play....extra wiring required finding the negative and the positive on the parking light harness, then using a wire tap to hook up the LEDs and the HALOs.....
i prefer the daytime looks of the OEM 3 gen lights and i don't like the day looks of the ones i bought.....night time performance of the aftermarkets are great, they took longer to aim correctly then i thought they should have......
reread posts 1,2,3, for what i should have done....
for you 2cd gen guys you will need to find some clear acrylic head light housing to put your HID projectors in and you'll have to be ready for lots of mods to that housing, so that the HID projector can be mounted.....
don't go cheap as i have done, if you want the best HIDs you'll have to build them yourself.....and use the bi-Xenon HID auto leveling infiniti projectors .....i provided a link for them in the above posts......that way both hi and low beams will be HID....
