How to paint A Pillar Pod
Well guys, i ordered some paint from Genos Garage last week and i will be getting it in the next day or so. How do i go about painting my pillar pod so it looks good and lasts a long time. Do i just spray the paint right on the pillar? Do i use adhesion promoter first? Tell me what i need to do to paint it and make it look half professional. Thanks guys!

Ditto to the above posts.....
another way to learn how to spray paint like a pro....
have a kid in boy scouts, build 5 or 6 pine wood derby cars,
you'll notice that each year the paint jobs keep getting better and better...
hang your pod using a string or a piece of wire inside a big box....don't listen to your wife paint in-doors with lots of light coats....let dry in between coats...

Dish soap will work fine as long as you are sure you have it completely rinsed off. These things come already paint prepped so you really don't need to do anything. With this smal a surface in a place where it's not getting bumped and rubbed against, this is really not a big deal at all. On a larger flat surface things are little more sensitive but on these things, just hang it from something and spray it with several mist coats until it's the color you want. The more coats the darker it will get, to a point. You could have also just run to your local auto parts store for the paint, they all carry the right colors. Don't forget to paint the plastic tabs that come with it so they blend in.

I agree with the above posts but I will still put in my 2 cents
When I painted my windsheild guage pod I just hit is very lightly with sand paper, like 1000 grit or something very fine, cleaned it with circuit cleaner and then did about 15 thin coats of paint. My paint was from the local store and dried in 15-20 min between coats. Total time was about 2 hrs then I let it dry for a day before installing.
