Default Good Deal?

Fuel prices have sky rocketed in my area and i want to get something that will be more fuel efficient. Like a Harley. I think i found a good deal but not so sure. So here's what it is: 1998 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide. It has 17,000mi on it, saddle bags, sissy bar, Drag pipes, windshield, new plugs and wires lady driven, and well maintained. The guy wants 7500 bucks for it, every one i talk to says its a good deal. True or false? I think it is. It's a damn good lookin bike to boot. What do y'all think? This is a big decision, a finger pointing in the right direction would help also. Thanks guys!

Yes and no..... Nada says its worth 6k with the options it has and mileage. Where do you live? Can you ride it year round? Looked into insurance costs yet, what kinda mileage does the bike get? Do you have to take out a loan? Just trying to figure out how long it is goin to take you to recoup the costs and to actually starting to save money. Or if you just want the bike lowball and work from there till u meet in the middle on the price... Like you said, its a big purchase, think it through and Good luck!

i live in south Carolina. the bike gets around 42-48mpg. and i would have to take out a loan. I got a price quote on insurance and the year cost was around 600 bucks. Which is ok considering i'm only 18 years old. I could ride it year round but it would be really cold in the winter though. Anyways i need a good excuse to get a big boy toy.

Just to help you out with Prices and a lil background on the superglide.. I recently traded my 2005 Superglide in on a new 2008 FLHT Electra Glide .. The Superglide is an excellent bike for people 5'11" and shorter.. its definately one of the top 3 or 4 handling bikes in the HD lineup IMO. Mine had 7800 miles on it when I traded it and the *** HD in Rock Hill, SC gave me 11,500 for it. I think 7500 is a great buy on a Evo Superglide..
