Question EGR blocked questions

Ok I've heard that if you block your egr valve it will give more power. AND fuel mileage will increase with a custom tune. Is true or a joke? If it's is true how would i block the egr off? At the manifold or at the valve itself? Suggestions Comments POST EM'

Im not sure if the older gassers run an EGR system or not Lucas.. I just did a dull writeup on blocking the EGR on my LBZ Duramax though. So far I have noticed a tad bit more smoke, but as far as Mileage I havent even checked..

For a tune, Im running stock right now since I just sold my Bullydog..

The main purpose for blocking EGR isnt for power and/or mileage.. you want to block the EGR system on a diesel motor to prevent soot filled air from re-entering your intake and turbo.. This helps prolong the life of your engine.
