I am no fan of Gayle Banks but, as I see it - hes right.

I would love to have pure power with little or no smoke.

i respect gale for wut he's trying to do. but yah, ya shouldn't trash talk the ur fellow industry members while trying to do it. that's just bad business. i've found that ppl who generally trash talk don't believe in themselves enough anyway and this is wut they resort to.

i'd like to see every diesel out there spitting out flowers and kittens from the tailpipe. i really would. this is where we all need to police ourselves because we could ruin our sport/hobby for ourselves. it's really no different then people who travel off marked trails when four wheeling. we have to be responsible for each other and make our trucks as clean as possible. i mean who really NEEDS a 700 hp daily driver? really? i'm not saying that u can't spend ur money on ur truck how u see fit, but is it worth giving the other side ammunition?

if every vehicle on the road in this world spit out a huge black cloud everywhere it went everyone's life span would be significantly cut. i don't want to live in a world like that.

ok. let the hatin' begin... :pc:

I think that calling other vendors/developers out like that is uncalled for. Its just bad business. If he was making gobs of horsepower with his products it would be different... but when was the last time you saw a Banks powered PSD, Cummins, DMax make big numbers on the rollers or low numbers at the track or pull a sled out the gate?

He said once that "black smoke was the negative legacy of diesel performance" I think maybe he is trying the "Green" approach. Mr Sensitive to the Environment to win people over. If he knew anything about diesel emissions, he would know that no matter how much my truck smokes, it still burns cleaner than the neighbors hot rod Honda Civic.

I don't see paying that much for a lackluster product.

I see many posts I agree with. I love black smoke, I think it looks awesome spewing out at the sled track, and the drag strip. I like blowing some on the street here and there, but a lot of people don't like what I like. It's kind of like ricers and their fart canned cars, they love 'em, I hate 'em. Last night at the track I saw a lot of rice burners spewing more smoke than a lot of diesels I see, even some chipped ones. Anyway I do oftentimes wish I had less smoke especially when the TST box is on. I can control the smoke pretty well, but if I feel I have to get on it real quick and hard, it pours. As for someone needing a 700+ daily driver, good point. That's one thing I like about the later computer controlled engines. I make over 500 to the wheels with the tst on, but with it off it's only 380 and a lot less smoke under hard acceleration. If I ever decided to go for 700+ it would only be hitting those numbers on the dyno or at the strip. I don't need 700+, but it sure would be cool to have!

I agree 100% I have used, and will use in this truck, Banks products, more than likely, but the blatant thrashing of competitors is just wrong.

Old Gayle is always the first and last to toot his own horn. He would be in big trouble if the competition spent the same amount on advertising as he does.

Yea and let's not forget the landspeed record with that dodge banks diesel truck that hardly smokes at all. Or has that record been broke??

I think that has been broken. There have been a few articles of trucks engineered for land speed records in some of the Diesel Magazines.
