Default 2-Computer Questions

1-How can I alphabetize my pictures in My Pictures? Win XP

2-I recently got a new DSL modem installed, now my computer won't stay in "Standby."
If I turn the modem off it will, but it's a PITA waiting to connect each time. How can I make my computer stay in standby with the modem on? My old modem worked alright.

To alphabetize the pictures, you'll have to group them altogether in one folder. Then right click on the folder and select sort by name. For the stand by option, click start, control panel, then power options. You can select how long for it to idle before it switches to stand by. I don't have XP, but it should give you a reasonable idea on where to go.

Muchos thank yous. I'll try the folder tip. I've been toying around with those power settings with no luck. I'll keep trying.

Under power options in Vista, on the left pane there is an option to change when the computer sleeps & when to turn power off to the display. Can't recall if it's like that in XP, but it might be!
