Yep, no sense banning an assault weapon for the safety of the nation...The recent school shootings indicate that a good old handgun and plenty of ammo is just as deadly.....very sad....
We need to ban ALL guns or arm everybody! Im getting real sick and tired of these stories of senseless slaughter....
Dont get me wrong guys, I am all for gun ownership, and even am a supporter of the right to bear arms...There just has to be a way to weed out these phsycos before they kill any more of our kids...What possesses these people to do such things....I hope nobody had any friends or family affected by the recent massacre.

even if they managed to take all the guns away from all the criminals i'd never give mine up. i just enjoy shooting them. period. but they're never going to be able to take guns away from criminals. u can't stop someone from getting something they desperately want. sooner or later they will succeed. history has proven this again and again.
and if/when i do finally snap, it won't be a shooting anyway. it'll be on the freeways of america where i've turned my truck into a battering ram because some wiener butt won't get the hell outta the left lane!!

I've debated responding to this one. I'm sure I will upset some of you and that is certainly not my intention. I am NOT in favor of any law that restricts gun ownership. (See my response to the List your guns thread) I have owned and shot guns all my life. I taught my boys how to shoot and safely handle guns.
That being said, I cannot for the life of me understand why a civilian needs to own an assault rifle. There are plenty of other weapons that would suffice for personal defense. AK's, AR-15's, SKS's are too easy to modify to full auto. Not really a top choice of hunters. So I don't buy the argument that they are used for hunting. Is it really a "sporting" rifle? Don't get me wrong, I have fired both an AK and a AR and they are fun. But I also enjoy shooting all my guns.
If there is something I am missing, with regards to civilian ownership of an assault rifle, I am more than willing to listen to your point. Please keep it civil.
Again, I meant no offense or disrespect. Just voicing my opinion.
