its sad when even the gas stations are complaining about high gas prices, guess big guys(creidt cards companies and oil companies)are out to screw the little man(us) and the middle man(gas stations) and force them into debt.

I live in Webster, N.Y. A lot of stations offer 3 to 5 cents off
if you pay cash. this has been going on for a long time here.

Independent stations have to pay for their delivery on demand, just like you or I; when we fill up.

So, a poor mom and pop gas station with only 10,000 gallons of fuel has to fork out $35,000 or more just to stay in business a few more days.

there is always another option, the CC companies make 2 % on the dollar, the gas staion is doing it by the gallon.

all they need to do is figure out what percentage of a dollar they need to stay in business, and do their markup that way...

it seems like basic business sense to me, if your costs are based on the dollar value of your transactions than your markups need to be based on that as well not on the gallons you sold...

in the end we would end up paying more, i know, but if the gas station makes no money it goes outta business and then the big corporate stations will be the only ones left allowing them to charge whatever they want...

old man in the story claimed 60 bux a month in gas profit, obviously he wasnt paying his retirement with that, mark up a couple cents to cover the 60 bux a month and keep selling your 10 dollar frozen burritos and cigarettes

Ive noticed lately, that even large stations have a different cash price... usually a few cents per gallon cheaper
