[QUOTE=Ram04SLT;151242]Man GRI $200 a 50# bag for Alfalfa?????? Try this site
Farm Seeds - Corn, Alfalfa & Organic Seed - Elk Mound Seed Company
Their seed is from Canadian stock more winter hardy.

their top shelf alfalfa is $179 plus shipping so the price I get isnt bad.

but you guys should check into the 15 plus by quaker boy. 40 bucks for 20 pounds
its got clovers, turnips, treefoil, rape, chickory, and tons of other stuff. We finally got some rain this week and my stuff is coming in already. SWEET!

I bought a whole bunch of other stuff to try this year. I'lll keep ya posted.

also, one of the best stuff to plant is clover (of any kind) because they are a perenial and will come back every year, they will grow in pretty much anything and the deer will eat them

Yeah the top shelf alfalfa is spendy$$$$ but for a food plot you really dont need to have a pure stand of alfalfa unless you plan on bailing it for livestock.
What a person should look at for a deer food plot is more of a mix like the alfalfa grass mixture and even then if you planned on bailing for live stock your still not out anything as far as nutrition and that runs $119 per 50#.
But you know there is nothing set in stone, really it's all about whatever works for you in your area and for your wallet, Oh heres another really good site for buying specific kinda seed or seeds as well as alot of excellent information

Smokin now you feel free to take on some the rain that has been out my way.... we are 20" above last years total already.
Haven't been able to even get out in the fields yet cause they are like bogs, and we have more rain coming yet today and this weekend.......

a .243 is only pissing off the yoti's???? I would be lookin at the Ammo..... Unless your were just lookin for a reason to buy yourself a new gun..... :-)

I use a Win HB 22-250 and a 55gr sleeping pill, never had any issues taking down any Yote from SD, ID or IL. But I do reload my own ammo so I can tailor my rounds to the task at hand
