I like the idea, but they r only screwwing the rest of us when we go to buy a new truck and the EPA mandates that 20+ thousand dollar piece of additional equipment on every new truck. It'll be intersting.

I saw a commercial the other day, that if all the Walmart shoppers bout this special little light bulb, that it would equal 1 million cars being taken off the road. So WTF, why doesnt the EPA get rid of the old light bulbs??

I commend Waly, and Pete for getting together and doing something. But I for one just dont want to hear about people complaining about getting 5mpg in a semi.

currently many truckers would rather push air with a truck shaped like a brick rather than slice through it..... if they want to get 5mpgs when others begin to get 8 to 10mpgs it's their money that they're wasting not mine.... inefficiency will put eventually put them out of business....

the first truck to make aerodynamic history occurred over 20 years ago.

Quote:
The Talk of the Industry—1985-1987
In 1985, Kenworth rolled out a truck which changed the industry forever. Called the T600A, the truck was a sloped-nose conventional with a set-back front axle—a combination which gave drivers the comfort of a conventional and the maneuverability of a cabover.

Not only was the T600A sleek looking, it was also incredibly aerodynamic. The T600A cut through the wind like no other truck before, saving customers up to 22 percent on their fuel bills. Testing showed an aerodynamic improvement of 40 percent when compared to the company's W900 conventional.

hehehe, I was having a bad day could ya tell??
I dont think ineffiencey in the aerodynamics will do it. Rather cheap freight will do it. Thats what put me out. My classic ran 6-6.5 MPG before Knoxville freightliner got there hands on it.
My fuel bill was the typical Grand - 1500 a week with plenty of miles. this was just last summer.

Check out Airtabs.com, I've run them on my personal vehicle and talked to many drivers who use them, they work. Some say they look a little funny, but so does getting your stuff reposessed.
