Default big rig turbo on a 97' 12valve is it possible?

I know this is a dumb question. But im just curios and willing to learn alittle bit. Can you put a big rig turbo on a small diesel like a 12valve? Bc im trien to find a mechanical turbo plus wastegate. Something i can bolt on and shes ready to go. Bc i am lookin for a bigger turbo but i also need the lowend boost and highend without high EGT's but just let me know what y'all think? Thanks

You would probably have more luck posting this in the 12v section.

I wondered the same thing at one point. Truth is, most turbos you find are going to be way to big to use as a single. They will most likely take quite a bit of adapting to even get it to hook up, and would take forever to light. There will be no low end boost with a big single turbo. What is done to the 12v that we're talking about? Fuel plate, GSK, injectors, DV's?

Bout the only way is a dual or triple compound setup. Just as a single, your going to have to push some serious fuel to get it to spool, and even then, your gonna have a lot of lag.

and theres nothing really big done to the truck, fuel wise. airdog 150, 300 horse injection pump, no fuel plate,140 hp injectors. Im still running the stock turbo and trien to find a upgrade. believe me, the turbo gets alittle too warm right now.
