I was wondering if there is a way to get the turbo gaurd to work an an auto 12valve??

i thought i read somewhere that they are only for the manual tranny trucks?

Those are the wrong part numbers, you need the one with APPS because your 97 will have a pedal position sensor. They will definitly work despite the way our price sheets read. LOL
