I have been running an L7 12" for about 8 years now in a sealed Q-logic box, sounds as good as it did the day I installed it.Here is the box:http://www.qlogicdirect.com/index.ph...products_id=21

My amp of choice is an older Pheonix Gold ZX 250 wired mono.

I am seriously considering an upgrade to the new Alpine amps, have always been a fan but they didn't have what I was looking for when I put this system together. This is what I am looking at now:http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_5...tp=35834&avf=N

I have 2 12" L5's with a Hyphonics 750w 1500RMS Amp and its not even close to getting these subs hitting like they should!!!

With 1 L7 a 750w amp would be ok, but if your running 2 12's go with AT LEAST a 1000w RMS amp!!!!

Oh and just because the stuff is cheaper.......Its not anywere near the quality of the more expensive amps!!!!!!

The L7 is a great sub. I recently put two of them in a durango r/t and they rocked. The only thing is that they require alot of space, and for our trucks, I would say that there too much sub for the general person on here. I would personally go with some Kicker solo classic's. But if u were set on them I would personally pair it up with a 10ZX7501. Kicker under rates their amps so this one would come with a "birth sheet" of about 800 watts rms whch would be plenty. for that matter you could even use a 10ZX5001 without having to worry about hurting the sub.

For the money and minor differences between the L5's and L7's other wattage and motor design, I've never seen a justification for buying an L7 over an L5 unless your going to overpower them to burp out as much bass as possible. There are many other options in the same price range or lower that hammer just as hard with clear sound, Exile XPe12D, JL 10W7, Hifonics atlas square 12" are the only ones I've heard in person though. I personally love Exile and JL but they aren't the best out there there just well known, build good products, and actually honor their warranty above and beyond what I would have ever expected. Kicker does as well they've replaced blown subs free of charge on many occations, and one amp zx1000 that got water damaged.

My 12" L7 would rock my world. If I can give you one piece of advice for it, get a SuperBass Probox for a 12" L7. The lows will be ungodly clean and undistorted.

The speaker is rated at 1500 Max, 750 RMS, so as long as you are hitting at least 500, you shouldnt have any problems at all.

My L7 had 4 ohm DVC's run in parallel to bring it down to 2 ohms, running to an Infinity Mono Class D amp putting out 657 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. I got the amp from Woofers Etc. for a little over $150 and it powered the L7 pretty well. A Kicker 500.1 or 750.1 would be the best but more expensive.

Next system I get will be a 15" L7 in a ProBox again with a Kicker 1000.1

i have an extra 12" L7 if someone is looking for one.

thing has been sitting in my garage for a year.

originally purchased two of them thinking i'd keep one as a spare, just in case i blew one. a year later and the one in my boat is still holding strong.
