07 chevy head unit ?'s
hey all,
i got an 07 chevy 2500 gasser for a work truck, and the am/fm radio HAS TO GO!!!!. i spend more time in this thing then i do my dodge, so i finally figured that its time to get a little more comfortable. this has been buggin me since i got the truck 2 years ago. my questions are:
do they make a direct plug in wire harness for these new styles?
do they make a nice mounting kit that is easy to install?
also, do we have a dealer that sells audio stuff on here?
there are a bunch of "local" places that i am sure can do this stuff for me, but i don't really want to get a whole lota cash into this. it does not need to be a "fancy" unit, just plays cd's for me. i have put units in before, but not on anything this "new". i know they make direct plug in harness for older trucks, but what about the new ones. any help would be great. and anyone with some pics of the newer style (07 up) chevy that has done this would be great!!!!!

all right now next question, could i just find a factory cd player and drop that in. i have seen somewhere that you need to get a code for it to work. it looks like it will be expensive for a direct plug in wire harness, because of some device you need so the dumb onstar will work for the harness and the mounting kit they want 130-180 bucks. i don't really want to spend that much on someone elses radio.

yeah i saw them for cheap, and my boss don't care much, we can perty much do what we want with in reason. we keep the trucks till they die anyways, then bring them back to life, then run them some more. eventually sell them for scrap. my only concern with a factory swap is if the codes will give me a hard time. i don't really want to give a dealership more money then i have to.
