Default navigation head unit, stock or not???

Hi gang, I'm looking to install a DVD navigation radio in my 06 Ram. My deal is I don't know if I should get one that came stock in Dodge trucks or get an aftermarket one. Also, will the steering wheel controls work with the aftermarket ones? I've got Sirius now and would like one that I can still get it with. Thanks for any help guys........CJ

I would get an aftermarket unit, I have a kenwood in my 07 duramax it has navigation and sirius all in the same unit, it also plays dvds. Their are diffrent brands u can get. You just have to have a adaptor put in for the stearing wheel controls to work. I have one in my truck it works great. If you have any more questions let me know be glad to help

Man that's great!.. ...thanks, I was worried about the steering wheels controls. I thought an aftermarket one would do more than an OE one. I'm sure you'll get a PM from me before I find the the right one. Thanks again, CJ

Thanks for the info I checked it out and then my wife saw the price and...well I guess if you had it to spend, for just that, it would be a great choice

You might also want to take a look at the Eclipse AV series. They're not cheap, but they're not at the upper end of the price spectrum either.
