Radio wont work
So when it comes to audio I am clueless. But heres the problem I bought the truck used, has a decent system in it. But the radio will not work. I can go to fm and am stations and its nothing but static noise EXCEPT for like 2 stations on FM. They come in once in a while. can anybody help me out here? thanks!!
The antenna may have come disconnected from the radio. Either at the back of the radio, or the base of the antenna on the fender. Have a look at the antenna and antenna cable, you may find your problem.
Thanks for replying. I just put a new antena and cable on. It did nothing. it must be disconnected from the back of the radio? I have no idea what the end of the tip looks like so i dont even know what to look for
and also where does it plug into?

Make sure - if you have a new antenna, that you remove the paint from the innerr side of your fender where the antenna base sits very well. The antenna needs to see a good ground. Don't worry about rust- because you will put a good amount of NGLI grease No.2 onto it-right?
This will increase the sensivity of your antenna significantly. There will be plenty of radio stations.
Just make sure you have a good old 3feet antenna straight up to the air. Not one of these fancy tiny thingies. Remember, in car applications the antenna catches the reflection of the antenna waves from the body.
So the smaller the antenna the worse the reception.
Do not try to use one of these antenna amps- the amp is only amplifying what it gets. If it is noise- the noise will be amplified. Not good. The antenna itselve is the key for good reception!
