My friend has a 1998 12 valve and all of his lights pulse. His voltage meter constantly bounces between 16 and 17 volts. When you hold the window switch up the lights stop pulsing but the meter on the dash reads 18+ volts which obviosly is over charging. When the truck was bought the charging system didnt work and he re-wired it and ever since he's had this problem. Please help the poor 12 valve

 

Did he wire in an external voltage regulator?

 

Yes he did its right on the fender. Same one as on my 1st gens firewall. He wired it straight to the PCM and alternator.
