Default Amsoil ?

Greetings folks.

Pardon the nOOb question , but I is one.

If'n a person was to switch to Amsoil or the purple brand & pair it up with an FS2500 , will that be $$ well spent or should one stick with regular oil & Baldwin filters changed at 5k intervals ?

Run the fs2500 on regular oil for 5k then switch to the good stuff with a complete filter change truck and FS2500 then you should be good to go! It's worth it!

The FS will always add some benefit even if you keep changing at 5k. Better filtration never hurt anything, but some may argue it's overkill...no such thing if you don't mind the expense.
You can put the synthetic in the fs right away, but I would run the new oil without the fs for 5k at least, the put the FS on and change oil again. The initial 5k fill will help clear out all of the old and you'll be set to go, whether that's 5k, 10, 15 or beyond.

The FS is still just a bypass system.

If you want to get real crazy filtration, you get a bypass system with a centrifuge system as well.

Amsoil is excellent, I will not run any other oil or gear oil in my 3/4 ton... Well worth the money for the good stuff, your engine will purr (or roar)....

I run Amsoil in my 2006 5.9L CR from first oil change. I change my oil every 25,000 miles along with filter. If you are going to run Amsoil go ahead and become a preffered member and get it at dealer cost. I would suggest running the Amsoil filter as well. My truck currently has 168,000 miles on itwith nothing but 25,000 mile oil changes from the begining at still has no motor issues. I am about to install the Amsoil ByPass filter system on my truck as a preffered customer I believe the cost is right at $150.

Prior to running Amsoil I ran Royal Purple but after reading a couple 3rd party oil tests of many major top end oil brands i quickly dropped the purple stuff.
