iv brought this up before but my transmission is really starting to whine in 4th and 5th gears going down the road. What do you guys think i should do? I was looking on ebay and a rebuild runs right around 1000 and the oem master rebuild kit is around 550 so would i be better off just buying a reman tranny or trying to rebuild it myself?

 

I've never rebuilt a ZF5 but manual transmissions are fairly easy to rebuild. I'd have no hesitation doing it myself.

 

I would do a rebuild also

 

it depends how much you want to do and if you know what to look for.
