Default adjusted valves and engin still sounds chattery

i adjusted the valve lash they wernt off too much all the intake valves were about 4 to 6 thousandth off and exhaust valves were all about 8 thousandth off but i set them back to spec anyways, but the engin still sounds chattery at idol. she dosent run bad or show any sign of loss of power or bad mpg but i compared her to my friends 0 6at idol and his dosent have ithe chatter that i hear on mine, anyone havr any ideas?

That's what I was wondering...if there is a programmer, that will typically cause it. Although worn injectors are noisey too...

mine will do it when i first start it in the morning and take off. goes away after a half sec.

nope no programer or chip engin is all stock. im also hearing a slight knocking noise wen i craw underneath, but the knock and chatter goes away wen im driving its only at idol

injectors or high rail pressure at idle....also you didnt say which transmission it is but if it is a stick then possibly a clutch/transmission noise?

its auto tranny,

injectors sounds like it, the truck does have 186,000 miles
