adjusted valves and engin still sounds chattery

i adjusted the valve lash they wernt off too much all the intake valves were about 4 to 6 thousandth off and exhaust valves were all about 8 thousandth off but i set them back to spec anyways, but the engin still sounds chattery at idol. she dosent run bad or show any sign of loss of power or bad mpg but i compared her to my friends 0 6at idol and his dosent have ithe chatter that i hear on mine, anyone havr any ideas?

Programmer/Chip?

dmaxkiller 06-11-2012 02:59 PM

small amount of injector rattle maybe?

steved 06-11-2012 05:12 PM

That's what I was wondering...if there is a programmer, that will typically cause it. Although worn injectors are noisey too...

dmaxkiller 06-11-2012 05:32 PM

mine will do it when i first start it in the morning and take off. goes away after a half sec.

injectors or high rail pressure at idle....also you didnt say which transmission it is but if it is a stick then possibly a clutch/transmission noise?
