10 or 11 depends on what oil filter, powerstrokes may use 14 or 15.change your fuel filter alot of people dont,i always pure some atf in the new filter bump the starter dont let it start yet so the atf sets in the lines, pump, and injectors.good luck with the new rig.

It ain't 15, that's on powerstrokes only! Id say change your oil, and put in 9-10 quarts bump start it then check the level

10 with the stock filter. 11 if you run the larger better fl1995 filter for a powerstroke. it will thread right on.

my truck has a 88 california motor and it takes a solid 11 with a filter.... i typically just buy a case and have 1 left over.... but i'm also running 1 qt of lucas pure syn. oil stabilizer, and Z-max....... with the pump turned up i'm averaging 18 on the freeway now..... if i turn it back down i can get 20mpg.

14-15 with a load is great.. I'm running royal purple 15/40 with z-max and Lucas pure syn. stabilizer.... i'm pullin 1-1.5 mpg, just after changin the oil alone.. I run 10k between oil changes.

i've got a 7.3 with a 4 speed and as long as i stay below 60 i get around 18-20. pulling is around 12-14 depending on the load. i run rotella 15w40 in all my trucks and tractors.
