I purchased a 95' f350 powerstroke, since I am new to the diesel engine maybe someone can enlighten me on this. It sounds like the valves are tapping a little louder than normal, I was told you can't do an overhead on the Fords because they are not adjustable. Mine has 107k on it, is there an adjustment to be done after 100k, or is this this normal for a 7.3?

 

no you can't do an adjustment on them. i think they are the hydralic lifters and they are set already for you

 

one of the rocker arms could have worrked loose. but i doubt that.

 

OK I had a guy tell me that there is something you can change out especially after 100k to quieten the back down. Not sure if he meant changing the rockers out or not, does anyone have any other ideas about it?

 

i'm really not sure. my 99 has 162K, 94 has... not sure LOL, moms 97 has 160K. they aren't loud, you really can't hear them.
