Default of the 3/4 tons, which one?

We are at that point where we will be looking at another truck (likely used) and I'm really having a tough time justifying the added expense of a diesel...I've owned my share of Cummins.

I'm now considering a HD 3/4 ton...Gasser, automatic, 4WD. I'm really not thinking I want the steering headache of another Dodge. How do the other brands hold up? What are the typical power train configurations?

why did you post this in the passenger vehicles? this is probably the least viewed thread out there! if going to a gasser, get a chevy 2500 HD... seem to hold up better, and you DONT want a hemi... or are you preferring a V10? if so, ford makes a decent V10. id get a 2500 diesel before a gasoline, due to the fuel milage, and obviously you are wanting a 3/4 ton for towing, so you will have more power, better milage while towing, and the engine will live longer..

just me .02

diesels will also have better resale value so you can make back that "added" expense

Ford V-10 is a nice runnin truck if you like gettin 8 mpg and they don't run for ship unless you run premium in them, so enjoy your many stops at the pumps.
