Default Aftermaket boost elbow??

Hi everyone!
I think i got a aftermarket boost elbow on my pick up. I just got the pick up this summer. The other day i was looking that the boost elbow and seen it had a set screw on it but no logos or anything like that on it to tell if it was aftermarket. Does the stock one have a set screw on it, or did i get a aftermarket boost elbow when i bought my pick up.

I think all the aftermarket ones are steel or aluminum pipe? Where as the stock is cast aluminum...

My stock elbow...

okay sweet thanks guys for the help. So the adjustablity should be pretty much streight foward, set screw out farther= more air to waste gate. Set screw screwed in = less air to waste gate and more to the enigne? Right

Mine is plugged shut LOL! Wastegates are for sissys! Well... sissys with stock head bolts LOL! Just kidding...

Plugging the the wastegate line makes more boost. Is it a ball and spring or needle valve?

Yes. All your waste gate does is bleed excess boost off. You can restrict or remove your waste gate to allow for higher levels of boost pressure. Set screw in means higher boost pressures and set screw further out means less boost pressure. I believe, someone can correct me if i'm wrong, you can run up to 40psi (recommended) before you should stud and o-ring the head.

Your correct about the max boosting found that out the hard way myself! Now im studded and rung.

However the waste gate does not bleed off boost... It allows exhaust gasses to bypass the turbine therefore never making boost in the first place. Some waste gate systems stay open on purpose to allow less restriction then shut at a certain rpm where the exhaust flow is of adequate velocity to drive the turbine fast enough to produce boost @ the compressor.
