Hey bombers I'm looking into buying a 99 E-350 box truck, it says 99,830 miles but no speedo or guages working ????? any ideas , this guy only wants like 3800$. dosent have much power either but i can work with that, figured I would just cut off muffler to start, and then open up intake pipe and so on, maybe a tuner, its awesome I can just get out of drivers seat and go into box where I would have my shop on wheels..... jjst wondering how much this gonna cost to fix ???? havent looked at anything... just know that thiers no wipers and all the dash guages and speedo dont work, other wise runs good shifts firm and all seemp ok...

 

Ford is bad for their instrument cluster going bad and that what it sounds like. if you can get your hands on a scan tool and plug in and check data stream to verify if it reads mph on the data stream

 

I would be checking fuses... I've never had a problem with the dash in either superduties and obs I've had...

cool.... im gonna go check it out more later this week, have a few cars to fix between now and then, guess i will start with fuses and work my way up, i just hate to fix and then watch the price go way up....... that would suck..... what about the wipers ????fuse to maybe ????:

 

I would say fuse, but if the fuse pass check for power on the wiper motor.

 

I've owned 8 Ford trucks and never had one problem with the dash... Known for it might be a stretch...

 

Well the guy who is selling this truck, has decided to fix the truck and being an A-hole to boot.... I'm gonna look else where for a truck needless to say..... so if anyone in the great state of Washington knows where thier is a 7.3 PSD or IDI box truck for sale hit me up..... looking ..... I'm a student so new is not an option..... and 1k every 3 months is waht i can do for payments.... if u know anyone who can help that would be great......mobile mechanic shop on wheels is what im trying to accomplish

 

I've got a SD for sale... But it's gonna cost a bit more than 3800 bucks and its not a box truck... A service box would be a nice swap since the bed is a little beat up...
