my dad has a 96 ford stroker with the 5 speed it wont start by the key but will start by jumping the soilond under the hood there is a a relay clicking under the hood on the driver side fender well behind the fuse box. any ideas what it can be and is there a way to bye pass the safety swich on the cluch pedal thanks in adavnce glowplugs work and spins over good

 

Have you thought about replacing the starter solenoid? If you can start it by jumping the solenoid but wont start with the key, that's what I would do...

That changes things a bit. ...

So if you turn the key to the RUN position, does it crank? Or just nothing?

 

just the relays clicking thats it glow plugs work

 

The GPR is clicking? Or what? Could be the ignition switch.
