Default What Are Your EGTs?

I would like to know what everyone else is running for exhaust temperature during normal driving (highway) and also getting on it...

Highway is usually 600-700 on flat ground, 65-70MPH

I cranked on it one day, going up a steep grade, running it on the highest setting, shifting close to redline and I never saw 1300. My buddies 6.0L runs 1200 just getting on the highway. Hope I didn't install the EGT probe incorrectly

I run 500-850 on the highway on the 80hp DD tune depending on outside temp, traffic, and winds. My truck has 6637 filter, 6pos chip, and 4inch turbo back exhaust.

Depending on mods, tire size and gearing, weight of the truck and alt...

500-900 cruising...

1250* red line for extended times...

Anything you want for short (10-30 seconds) times...

Well from the looks of it, these 7.3Ls just run really cool. No replacement for displacement!

They can get very hot...

Just not so much with stock injectors.

I have it on the left exhaust manifold right by the crossmember. The probe is L-shaped and only clamped on. I did my best with what came with the kit (Auto Meter Factory Match from Strictly Diesel formerly ITP Diesel). Maybe I hillbilly rigged it too much. And yes, I only have stock injectors. The stock turbo (Wicked Wheel) seems to clean up the 140HP Aggressive (DP-Tuner) at higher RPMs. Just wanted to check since it runs so much cooler than the 6.0s. Thanks!
