01 Jetta TDI EGR valve replacement
Ok, so I'm getting ready to replace an egr valve on a 2001 Jetta TDI. I dont know much about the VW TDI's so I'd like a little info on what to look for and what to watch out for. I'd also like to know how to check to make sure the valve is ok because I know that the egr cooler being bad can throw a code for the egr valve. If anyone can give me some info on this I would appreciate it.
I just removed my egr and got a race pipe, but I hope some of these links help. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=309499

OR do the Malone tune to put the EGR to sleep and help the intake CLEAN.
Malone can be hazardous to your clutch if you go with a higher tune.
I tried blocking the EGR etc and got a check eng lite, so I called a local MALONE guy-problem solved. My EGR is sleeping for now
