Default Car Fire 2003 Jetta TDI

So I'm looking for engine options to do a swap in my vehicle and I came across someone parting out an 03 VW Jetta TDI. The car had a fire in the engine bay, burning away everything, well, burnable.

That being said, my plan is to use an mTDI pump, so the wiring doesn't matter. My question is what other parts of the engine could have been damaged and will need to be replaced?

Also, is there a chance the engine isn't any good anymore?

Anything aluminium, all the rubber seals. I wouldn't pay much, or at least want it torn down and measured.

The head is aluminum and that's what I'm mostly worried about. Not sure what it takes to warp an aluminum diesel head.

Well, it melts at 1200*. Some warping can be cleaned up with machining.

I'd be comfortable at $500, but that's it without having a look at the internals.
