01 Jetta TDI EGR valve replacement

Ok, so I'm getting ready to replace an egr valve on a 2001 Jetta TDI. I dont know much about the VW TDI's so I'd like a little info on what to look for and what to watch out for. I'd also like to know how to check to make sure the valve is ok because I know that the egr cooler being bad can throw a code for the egr valve. If anyone can give me some info on this I would appreciate it. :tu:

I just removed my egr and got a race pipe, but I hope some of these links help. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=309499

Just delete the egr and have Rocket Chip retune for no egr :tu:

What egr delete kits did you guys purchase? I'm looking to delete my egr but can't seem to find any.

OR do the Malone tune to put the EGR to sleep and help the intake CLEAN.
Malone can be hazardous to your clutch if you go with a higher tune.
I tried blocking the EGR etc and got a check eng lite, so I called a local MALONE guy-problem solved. My EGR is sleeping for now:yeah:
