transmission rebuilt, now no reverse
I have an 06 Mega-cab, when the tranny started to act up with 160k miles, I brought it to a "friend" who does side work at the tranny shop where he works. Both the shop and this "friend" have very good reputations. He did the work on the side and said second gear was "gone" and one of the bands were broken.
2 months and $1,500 later I get the truck back and two weeks later....no reverse, everything work fine until the one day reverse started to fade more each time I needed to use it. I should mention that when I got the truck back, the gear selector lever was out of wack, it would set the alarm off when I put it in neutral and opened the door with the truck running.
The truck shifts fine and tows well also. There is no "engine brake" feel when you let off the throttle, just coasting, also if I pull down the shift lever to down shift from Drive....nothing.
I have been told this sounds like a valve body issue, could this be the case?
