timing could be off. also make sure you are getting full throttle with the pedal.

I am gettin full throttle with the pedal, feels like a fuel issue, once I get any boost it feels like im hauling a big parachute behind me. The max fuel screw feels stuck so im going to get a 5/32 allen head that fits.a socket and see if I can turn it either wat ( up or down). Now I have heard of another fuel screw, not the torque screw. One thats under the center fuel line on the back of the pump? I looked at my old pump and it does have a allen head in there. Does this.have anythimg to do with fuel adjustments?

dont touch that one. timing can still be a big part. need to get it timed with a meter. not by ear.

What exactly is that screw for? Just out of curiousity. Could I dynamic time it?
Or do I need a timing light?

timing needs to be precise. .1 degree can change alot. they should be timed to 8.5 degrees. if you cant find a place to time it, do a search for ferret timing meter. it hooks up to a normal timing light. but the timing light needs to have the degree wheel to change it.

that screw is for the internal fuel pump. the DB2 can pull fuel itself, but will burn out if it does it alot. this is the reason for the lift pump.

What size clamp is needed for the 92 7.3 and 86 6.9 idi.( i have both).
Will this work on a 6.9 without one of those timing fittings on the number one injector? Or would that have to be added to use one of these?

the line size is 1/4 inch. both the 6.9 and 7.3 have same size lines. just clean the paint off the lines and put the clamp around it.

also fyi, if you cant get a good reading from number 1 cyl, try number 4. it is 360* after cyl 1 fires, so wil be the same readings.

Thanks! I asked the local diesel shop (the only one that will still work on a diesel that dosen't require a programmer) about timing and they just "set it by ear"! And yes, they charge to do that!
