Default Programmer? Can you program an IDI?

All of my friends talk about their programmers and such, and about how they get so much more power and mpgs out of them. I know that there is limited involvment of the on-board computer in the IDI's, but would it help to get a programmer, and are there any programmers out there, and where might I find one? I've look all over the web for programmers and the only thing I could find that might work is the EDGE 15000

Nope, they are mechanically injected using an injector pump... No chips for IDI's... You can do other things like add a turbo...

Would that change the timing of the transmission? I have a turbo(stock) would you suggest getting a new larger turbo? I get about 7psi out of the turbo I'm running now, if I were to go to a larger turbo with like 12 or 15 psi, would I need to get an intercool or cold air intake, suggestions?

Have you messed with the injector pump any? That would be the first step, after a pyro of course.

I have not done that yet, when I get time to get around to buying a pyro I plan on turning that up 1 notch. But I also don't want to burn my engine up by turning that up, and was looking into alternative options...

since i see u have a 94, i am quessing the turbo is stock. the wastgeate can be adjusted for more boost. will need to remove the rod and tap it to thread the rod in more to allow more boost.

but before doing anything get both a boost and pyro gauge on it.

you dont want more that 12 psi and 1250 degrees Pre turbo temps.

Would you suggest a cold air intake if I turn the injector pump up and the wastegate up? Also, I really am thinking I'm going to get an intercooler, which one would be best?

any intercooler will work if u can plumb it up. as for a cold air intake, get hypermax cowl induction intake. will lower EGT around 100 degrees and possibly build a little more boost. hooks up to the stock air cleaner box.
