The transmission in my 01 duramax is not shifting right to me, the only way to get to shift it is too get the engine to run at 2 thousand rpm are above. Any ideas what is wrong. My buddy told me to have the dealer reprogram the computer. Also my truck is running stock right now and there is about 195 thousand miles on it. Any help will be good.

 

change your fuel filter. mine wouldnt shift into 4th and it was the fuel filter.

X2 on the fuel filter... A friends was doing the same thing and he was told to change the filter to fix it. I didnt believe it at first but sure enough it fixed the problem. how did it go for you?

 

my truck was doing as Matts friends and was worried since i had just got it ... but got all fluids and filters changed and when i did the fuel filter done it worked just fine .. now not only am i paranoid about doing everything i can to prolong injector life but also not have it happen again i do my fuel filter every other oil change
