I have a 97 powerstroke and when i push down on the accelorator it goes really far and then catches. The accelorator is really free is there any way to tighten it?
This is probably cunfusing and a dumb question but it would make my truck a lot easier to drive.

I once upon a time messed with the tab on my accelerator but It bent it too far and it would always come back to idle even if I was pressing the accelerator. So I just bent it back to the way it was before.

 

Ok. Thats what mine does it stays at an idle even though im pressing the accelorator.

 

That tab is probably bent too far would be my guess...
