Default Wheel paint

So my wheels need painted the black is starting to crack and the aluminum is showing through, i was looking for some good paint i was thinking about duplicolor rim paint and a clear coat over top, and to help the paint stick better i was gonna take some steele wool and rough up the aluminum, what do u all think?

I took mine in and it was done in 7 hours, tires back on and ready to go. It was a whole lot cheaper than buying new wheels, mine were flaking and looked horrible. All better now.

Wow there nice looking, im gonna give the spray on a go and see how it turns out, i just dont wanna have to deal with having the tires taken off and put back on and the 300 dollars they want to do them, if ya dont mind me asking what did you pay to have yours done?

$240. The tire place took them off and had the powder coater come get them. I waited and did it when I bought new tires.

Duplicolor works well. If you want the best finish remove the old paint til its just aluminum, give it a coat of adhesion promoter then a coat of paint and clear. the duplicolor wheel paint and wheel clear are a pretty good product. Adhesion promoter works great on plastic center caps and aluminum wheels

Whatever you have thought is god ,it seems you are painting for the first time, just take your time and do the coating perfectly.Using good paint is also essential.
