i have the superchips max micro 1705 tuner for my truck the hi performance tune gives the truck 111.5hp and 205ftlbs of torque thats the setting my truck is on now, i can floor the truck and keep it like that up to 70mph with very very little smoke at all, but my friends 2003 7.3lpsd with the flashpaq tuner from superchips which only gives 9 more hp then mine on the hi perf tune and his truck will roal coal. im not saying i want my truck to blow a ton of black smoke but i just dont understand y his will but mine dosent?

 

Don't worry about the numbers. You will most likely not get those kind of numbers from a superchips programmer on a stock truck. As for why you are not getting smoke and he is, it's just in the tuning.

Smoke does not equal power.

 

i know that smoke dosent equal power, i was just wondering why. his chip is newer then mine so your right the tunes are probably different.

 

Dump the super chips and get a custom Tuned chip, u will get plenty of smoke then

 

i got an e99 with the superchips max micro tunner and on hi peromance setting it really doesn't smoke either. the performance tow smokes a bit. then tow safe makes me want to paint union pacific on the tail gate. LOL

 

i kno the superchips suck but it came with the truck. i plan on getting a custome tuned ts style chip from swamps

when i had my max micro mine did very little too, went to a flashpaq i got for free and it did smoke a lot more, no more power at all but did smoke more, just some difference in the tunes, and all trucks respond differently, with my custom tunes i could black out a stop sign if wanted, put my pcm and chip in a buddys truck and it doesn't smoke anywhere close to as much

 

Aren't you fighting a driveability problem with your truck right now?

That 1705 should run really well.....and yes, it is good for about 100 RWHP over stock (just like any "custom" tuned programming will for a 99-03 7.3L with stock injectors).

Fix your driveability problem first THEN worry about smoking out intersections.

 

I agree with you phpdiesel, yes I am fighting a driveability issue tight now and nothing I've tryed had seemed to help.
