Hey guys first post. I put a triple disk converter in and had to change the pump gears to. Got everything installed and back on the truck started it and R,N,D,2,1 all go forward. and when idling in park it wants to die after a few min. This is my first time with auto trans. Kinda clueless where to start.

 

Does it idle when it's in gear? If it's trying to die in park I don't think it's related to the trans. Dodge auto's don't pump fluid when in park usually. If everything else about the tranny seems to be working fine, I'd be looking at the engine. What does it idle at before it dies? In my experience with ATS's triple lock converter, they seem to have a really low stall and will kill the engine if everything is cold and you put in drive.

 

In reverse it actually moves forward or trys to or what?

 

Yes it goes forward in everything but park. With the wheels off the ground when u put it in park it acts like it has resistance in the trans. Pulling it back out today to check the front band

 

my truck did the same thing after i had my tranny rebuilt and there was a bad valve in the tranny. mine ended up starting to fight itself between forward and reverse. brake alot of stuff.
