Default Stock fuel pump removal??

Well me and my buddy are attempting to install an Airdog on his truck. How does the in tank fuel pump come out?? Do we need some special tool to get it out? Looks like the pump sits in the tank and the white collar screws down to hold it. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!

Are you not using a Draw Straw or Sump? I strongly suggest the DSV from Vulcan.
w.vulcanperformance.com/DrawStraw-V-HiFlow-p/dsv.htm
These allow unused fuel from the AirDog and Engine to fill the basket, keeping it full of fuel for the suction.

The fuel pump is built into the fuel sending unit. If you remove the pump, and use the fittings on top of the fuel sending unit, you won't get much fuel.
To remove the sending unit, that large white collar must be spun off. A strap wrench, large pair of channel locks, or if your lucky, a hammer and block of wood.

We were going to modify the existing pump to draw fuel. Think we are going to use the draw straw after looking at it. Oh ya we got the existing pump out. We got lucky and a hammer and block of wood did the trick! Thanks for the reply!
