In the market for a new 4-5" exhaust and downpipe...
Alright folks. So i've decided against stacks, and will be going with a large OEM style exhaust outlet, in the form of 4-5" in diameter. I would also like a new downpipe. But I'd like this to be done very cheaply if possible.
3" down pipe is the biggest your going to fit without major fire wall work... from there its up to you what you run, anything bigger then a 4" is for looks and maybe sound, no performance gain.
Ya I'm pretty sure i'm gonna stick with a 3" dp.. that should be plenty. I'm seeing a TON of systems being offered utilizing the 3" dp anyways. I'm pretty sure anything over a factory exhaust system straightpiped is for sound only,
. But I'm still debating what size I wanna go with.
I have a feeling that I'm going to pick up a a TON in the mpg/power department, having the factory 240k mile cat/muffler on my truck...

oh i meant hood stack
which i dont think we can run around here.
As for your other pipe i think we can probably bend it out a little then as far as the testing maybe a custom dp. weld up the fitting with maybe a 4" or snake it around for a hood stack
i'm almost positive i could squeeze a 4" in mine without moving the firewall so yours might. it could be tested at least

Get yourself a 3" to 4" system... Can usually be had for somewhere around 300 bucks shipped with a tip.
Just my 2 cents, and I know you are lookin to keep things cheap but I think you can't go wrong with a Banks turbo-back set-up. They come with stainless pipes and the Monster muffler. The sound is low to moderate but the motor breathes a lot better with a mild increase in mpgs.
