Default 02 Dodge 24 valve surges with no throttle response

This dodge has me against the wall. It shows no codes, fuel pressure after the filter is 3-6psi steady. It has been conerted to having the lift pump in the tank. It starts and drives ok but suddenly it will have no throttle response at around 1700-1900 rpm. Back out of it and get back into it and it is ok for a while then the same crap starts all over again. Fuel filter is clean and I found no air bubbles in the fuel. Any ideas would be a help.
Thanks ahead of time.

Sounds like your VP44 is starting to go.

Your lift pump should be making 15psi at idle...the vp44 will not pull fuel thru the in tank lift pumps like it will the carter pumps on the side of the block...you will have to change the pump in the tank, convert it back to the carter pump on the side of the block, or put an aftermarket pump on it like an airdog or fass....but you do NOT need a vp44 unless you fix the fuel pressure and check the voltage at the injection pump and you still have this same problem

also if you go back to the lift pump on the side of the block you will have to remove the in tank pump or the new lift pump will not pull fuel thru it and you will still have a pressure problem

Bet way to remove the intank pump is by using a Vulcan Draw Straw V.

Of course then u would have to replace the fuel line all the way to the new lift pump on the side of the block.........or you could simply take the pump out of the module and just replace the plastic hose. That went to the pump with a new longer one angle cut on the end long enough to touch the bottom of the cup..........then you still use all of the factory fuel line
