Default Next cummins engine...

Anyone heard anything about the next cummins that will come out? Is it gonna be a big powerhouse to compete with the others big numbers? Kinda seems like they might have to step it up to keep up with the others. Dodge is kinda getting left behind. Maybe the next one will be a big power maker and have that nice big smooth strong tranny that we are over due to get.

Yeah I agree, the inline has held it's ground very well. Just wonder if/when cummins will step it up over the competition and get ahead of em.

Nobody wants to be the first to make a half ton diesel because they don't want to lose the profits they make from the high prices of 3/4 and 1 ton diesels. Cummins has been working on the 5.0 V8 diesel and the 4.7? V6 diesel for like 10 years now. They are just looking for someone to take it and put it in a half ton.

At least the urea system is helping the new Ford get decent fuel mileage again.
