new diesel owner here....
ok here is my thing i just bought a 2005 dodge ram 3500 2wd 6speed manual.. quad cab long bed dually it is a really sharp truck.. ok the motor was blown so my machanic put in a 24v cummins outta a 99... anyway he got all my stuff to work but here is my question/questions what are some of the basics to owning a diesel?im kinda clueless and dont want to mess up my truck.. its my baby....
If you are running a VP44, first and foremost you need a fuel pressure gauge. It's probably the single most important thing to have an a 24V truck. Also, some kind of additive for lubricity will help keep the injection pump happy for a long time to come.
Enjoy your truck!
