Beer egr delete on 07 classic

i have a 2007 classic lbz with fed emissions (fe9) and a banks iq tuner, i want to do a egr delete. banks seems to like the "clean" settings so i'm wondering if a fingerstick is enough to keep my truck running problem free. i have heard that with fe9 all that will happen is a check engine light, But with a banks iq....? can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

PPE or an Edge Race module will allow you to run an EGR deleted truck, the banks will not, he likes keeping that stuff in place and is pretty proud of his ability to sell a $3,000 kit and gain only a 100hp at the rear wheels, but seriously look into a PPE or Edge or if you really wanna do it right EFI live

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a fingerstick replaces the egr connector spot. And its purpose is to simulate a erg system working perfectly, right? And as the tuner gains its info from the scanner port, and the trucks computer is fooled that the egr is functioning correctly. Than shouldn't the iq see the egr as functioning correctly too? Or am I way off in my understanding here?

I'm also interested in this, have an LBZ, and wondering what the consequences are of an EGR delete and whether or not the finger stick will keep the CEL away.

the finger stick will keep the CEL away.... thats what its ment for, a hidden fooler to keep your truck looking stock while blocking the EGR with the plate

I have been running a blocker plate for 30k miles with no issues yet, I dont have a finger stick as I use EFI live to eliminate the codes and to impair the function of the EGR

it is a good idea to block the egr because the soot from the egr mixes with the oil residue from the PCV and it creates a thick black tar in the head intakes..... and it builds up after a while... there was probably 1/4" in mine when i pulled the heads, the truck had 60k miles on it and i blocked the EGR right after I bought it

I recommend blocking the EGR as soon as you can

Deleting the EGR is one of the best cheap mods you can do on that truck!! You can use a fingerstick to take care of the light or like the other people stated the ppe, egde race, or EFI live can turn the egr off and then you can delete it completely off your truck. Oh and a PCV reroute.
