1995 7.3 powerstroke ignition trouble
the other day i get in my truck, turn it to the "wait to start" sequence spot. after the light turned off i turned the key...it started just fine but i heard a pop sound from my steering column...when i got to work i couldnt turn my truck off. the lock cylinder just spun in the hole...ended up having to disconnect the batteries to kill it...so this morning i put a new lock cylinder in but that didnt do anything. anyone got any ideas?

It sounds like the plastic slider thingy. Can't think of a better word for it might have broke on you steering column. If you look between your lock cylinder and your dash on the steering column this piece is what actually moves when you turn the lock cylinder. Make sure that is in tack. It will then go to a little box that has all the larger wires that go to the ignition and stuff. Make sure all that looks good.
It has been a while since I have had to work on one of these I hope I have all the terminology right but i think you will understand it when you get to looking into it.
Good luck.

There is a rod that run from the cylinder to the ignition switch on the side of the column I think they call it a ignition actuator rod or maybe a ignition rack rod. you have to take the column apart to get to it
