Default getting soot off my bed

Any tips on how to get soot off of my bed? Or basically is soap and water and a lot of scubbing the only way? Any easier ways?

Simple green, but cut any cleaner at least 2:1 with water, I use LA's Totally Awesome cut down 4:1.

If you can find LA's that is what I use on the under carriage at a 4:1 in a 1 gallon pump bottle, cleans it right up. I found it at one of those dollar stores and use the different kinds for everything.

I use wd-40 to get the soot off my bed, and it also works on tar.

I think I just bought that stuff the other day for use on other stuff. I didn't know you could use it on paint- I will try it.
Also, this may be a dumb question, but is it ok to use that on my chrome bumper to take off soot?

If it works on paint, I don't think it'll hurt chrome any. I just use brake cleaner myself. Just don't leave it sit more than a few seconds and it works fine.
